Anchor-Man & Anchor-Lady Auditions

Tomorrow, COM 485 Studio Production is holding auditions for the anchor spot for Scribe TV.

What is Scribe TV you may ask?

It’s the new online video publication that coincides with Hilbert’s online newspaper, The Scribe. We need someone (or multiple someones….please laugh at my horrible use of grammar) to channel their inner Ron Burgundy and be on camera.tumblr_n8i8h7SRF21r5n0bgo1_500.gif

Auditions will be held between 2:00PM and 3:00PM in Swan Room 152. If this sounds like something you would be interested, please contact me or Chris Gallant at the following email addresses:

If video isn’t your thing and you want to contribute to The Scribe, contact Dan Higgins at dhiggins@hilbert.edu.

I’ll be in the lab Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so if you need anything from me, don’t be a stranger!

What up NOObs?

Hey There! Its a new year here at Hilbert, and a new year for us in the DMaC lab!

If you don’t know me, my name is Moira, but you can call me Mojo. I’m a DMaC Major here at Hilbert College and I graduate next Winter.

I tend to hang out around the lab in-between classes but of course I also work here at these times:

  • Monday: 12:30pm- 4:30pm
  • Tuesday: 2pm- 4pm
  • Thursdays : 2pm-3pm

As Dave mentioned we have a bunch of new toys this year. He showed you the new cameras. 4K is pretty dope. And our new edit bay computers are made to edit it.

Edit Bay 1 and 3 are equipped with stripped down Windows 10, with the Adobe Creative Suite. Edit 2 and the Audio Bay have 5K Macs if that’s more your thing. Our Audio Bay of course has GarageBand but is also equipped with Protools, just ask us for the log in UBS and we’ll get you started.

Last thing to mention: if you would like to rent out any equipment, make sure to come see Dave or myself to sign the “Equipment Sign-Out Responsibility Form.” We are also relying mainly on our online checkout system, SuperSaas. You can visit it by clicking this link (and if you have questions, come see us). Make sure to sign up and reserve your equipment on SuperSaas!

Dave and I will be posting here every Tuesday and Thursday, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Welcome Back!

Hi there everybody! Welcome back to another wonderful school year at Hilbert. That means we’re back to working in the DMaC Lab!

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dave. I’m a senior DMaC Major here at Hilbert College and this is my last semester before I enter the real world. But until that happens, I’m going to cherish these moments working in the DMaC lab.

That being said, here’s my schedule so you can all come see me and rent stuff:

  • Tuesdays : 11am-12pm and 3:30pm-5pm
  • Wednesdays : 4:30pm-6:30pm
  • Thursdays : 11am-12pm and 3:30pm-5pm

Oh yeah, we got some new toys this year. You like shooting crispy 4K video? We have a Sony A7S II and a JVC 4K camcorder. Yeah… they’re really nice. 4K is cool. And there’s new computers to edit that awesome 4K video on (but Moira is going to talk about those later).IMG_1942.JPG
